40 km to 60 km Sensing Distance

The WSEELINK DAS module has a typical sensing distance of 40 km and supports a maximum sensing distance of up to 60 km under the specified system conditions.

The optical section operates at a central wavelength of 1550.12 nm.

The narrow linewidth optical source has a linewidth range of approximately 1.7 to 3.5 kHz, while pulse width can be configured from 60 to 200 ns.

These parameters are designed for coherent Distributed Fiber Sensing applications.

Phase Sensitive OTDR Technology

The DAS module works on the phase-sensitive OTDR principle.

Narrow optical pulses are transmitted into the Sensing Fiber. During transmission, Rayleigh backscattering occurs inside the fiber.

When external vibration affects the fiber, small changes in fiber length and refractive index create phase changes in the returned optical signal.

The sensing system can process these changes to identify vibration or acoustic disturbances along the optical fiber.

Optical and Electrical Specifications

The module uses SMF28e fiber with an FC/APC connector.

Its AOM section supports an 80 MHz frequency shift with an extinction ratio of approximately 55 to 60 dB.

The module operates from a nominal 12 V power supply, with a specified operating voltage range of 11.7 to 12.5 V.

Maximum power consumption is 30 W.

The specified operating temperature range is from minus 15 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius.

Designed for System Integration

The DAS module is intended to be integrated into distributed acoustic or vibration sensing systems.

Actual system performance depends not only on the optical module but also on Sensing Fiber installation, detection hardware, data acquisition and signal processing.

For this reason, system integrators should confirm sensing distance, fiber type, optical parameters, interface requirements and installation conditions before selecting the final configuration.

WSEELINK also provides DVS modules, narrow linewidth light sources and fiber amplifier products that can be evaluated for related optical sensing system applications.

Customized optical and electrical parameters can be discussed according to specific system integration requirements.
